Way out West lived three bears who like to keep their cabin neat and tidy. But one day while they're out for a walk, a dirty little girl named Dusty Locks barges in and helps herself to their supper of beans. The big bear's beans are so full of chile peppers that she burns her mouth. The middle bear's beans don't even have any salt. But the bear cub's beans are just right, so Dusty Locks gobbles them all up. When the bears come home to find their nice, neat house looking like it's been hit by a whirlwind, they get riled and Dusty Locks runs home so fast the dust doesn't settle for a week. While she is home her mom cleans her up, and she no longer is dirty.

This story picks up after Goldilocks is chased out of the home of the three bears. She stumbles into a rabbit hole and upsets the family with her pickiness and whining. At first, the Hares are very accomidating hosts, but the longer Goldilocks stays in thier home, the more unbearable she becomes. The Hares hatch up zany schemes to get her out. Finally what gets her out is them saying they will call the bears. After this Goldilocks runs out. In reading this book, children can learn to not use people or their friends for what they have. They can put everything into perspective and realize that they should be thankful for what they have.

he Wolf describes how he had not eaten for weeks and one day smelt cake and butter in the forest. Naturally he was enticed and followed the smell all the way to Little Red who looked like his favorite fruit, an apple. The wolf then talks about Little Red’s character as being very full of herself and so she naturally takes on the challenge of beating him to grandma’s house. Once there, before Little Red, he eats grandma because she too reminds him of a juicy green apple. And once Little Red gets there she too suffers that same fate. No woodcutter in this story to save the day.
Jack and the Baked Beanstalk by Colin Simpson

Jack lived with his mom, and they owned a small truck café. They had a great business and loved serving people throughout the day. One day the city decided to put an overpass in right over their café. They were still getting a good business from the construction workers, but once they were done the little café had no business. One day Jacks mom told him to go out and buy some milk and coffee beans, instead he met a stranger and bought magical beans from him. His mom was furious and sent him to bed. The next morning there was a giant beanstalk where his mom threw the beans. Jack decided to climb it, and try to find gold for his family. While he was up there he found a giant, he was very nice, and was lonely. Jack stayed awhile and talked and ate with the giant. While he was ready to leave the beanstalk broke from the giants weight and everyone went down to the ground where the giant broke the new overpass. Everyone was okay, and the giant stayed with Jack and his mom. Now they are getting a fantastic business again, and they have the most famous cook around.
The True Story of Goldilocks by Agnese Baruzzi and Sandro Natalini
![Picture](/uploads/2/3/6/8/23684543/7076062.jpg)
When Mama Bear and Papa Bear invite Goldilocks to stay, they hope that she will be a good influence on their naughty son. But Little Bear doesn’t like this Goody Two-Shoes, and Goldilocks thinks that he’s horrible to live with. This humorous peek at what happened before the famous fairy tale began is packed with novelties, including a pop-up Three Bears’ house, that bring the story to life. This would be a good book to have the children read because they can see what happens before the original story and also how they see other people or how other people see them.
The Wolfs Story by Toby Forward
![Picture](/uploads/2/3/6/8/23684543/1209975.jpg?194)
This story is an alternative version of little red riding hood told from the wolf’s perspective. He explains how everything was a big misunderstanding and how he would never hurt grandma. He explains how grandma fell and bumped her head when Red knocked on the door. He panicked, so he put on one of grandma’s dresses and jumped into her bed. When Red notices him, she screamed. A woodcutter came in and chopped a piece of his tail off as he jumped out the window. He promises that he would never hurt grandma or anyone else for that matter. This book would be good to use for younger children. It helps to explain that there is always two sides to every story and that they need to take their time to get to know both sides.
